The acquisition of Saab Space and Austrian Aerospace in 2008 – together with the purchase of Oerlikon Space in 2009 – has transformed RUAG Space into Europe's largest independent supplier of space products to the industry. RUAG Space employs around 1,100 people at its eight sites in Switzerland, Sweden and Austria. The companies that comprise RUAG Space today, achieved total sales revenues of 283 million Swiss Francs in 2009.
