In view of the increased training and continuing education requirements for skilled workers and the mutual provision of specialists to handle aviation MRO services, RUAG and Pilatus have concluded a strategic partnership.

The annual event of the federal initiative "Exemplary Energy and Climate" took place recently. RUAG was represented by Daniele Malnati, Environment / RUAG Real Estate. The initiative welcomed new members and presented its 2022 annual report. RUAG has been part of this initiative since 2020.

On Saturday, August 19, 2023 the annual "Aare cleaning" took place. The clubs Flusssurfen Thun and the Pachtverein Thun jointly organized the event and, with numerous helpers, cleared the Aare of garbage. RUAG Real Estate participated with a sponsoring contribution.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Hangar 1 at the Lodrino Air Base marked the traditional official start of construction on 30 May 2023.

The RUAG Collaboration Lab in Bern has been nominated for the Swiss Location Award. Our premises are thus among the most beautiful and best event locations in Switzerland.

On April 4, Energie Wasser Luzern (ewl) opened its new heating center at the RUAG site in Emmen. When completed, ewl currently expects annual heat sales of around 22 gigawatt hours. This corresponds to the heating requirements of around 2,200 four-person households. This will save a total of around 4,600 tons of CO2 per year in the region.

Repair work on a wastewater pipe led to smoke development in the RUAG wind tunnel in Schiltwald in Emmen. The company fire department, which was alerted, was on site immediately and was able to stop the smoke development. The staff was evacuated as a precautionary measure; no persons were injured. In the meantime, the building has been reopened.

During the night, shortly after 03:00, the RUAG company fire department discovered a fire in the detonator factory restaurant while patrolling the RUAG Real Estate site and called the fire department from the DDPS. No persons were injured, the cause of the fire is being investigated by the police.

Another milestone on the road to a sustainable energy future: On April 12, representatives of RUAG Real Estate AG, Fernwärme Luzern AG and the municipality of Emmen laid the foundation stone for the construction of a heating plant on the RUAG site in Emmen.
