Reorganization at RUAG

Organizational changes are expected at the RUAG locations in Bern, Thun and Emmen. On the one hand, this is due to a lack of customer orders in the Business Area Ground. On the other, IT roles are being outsourced for efficiency reasons. The measures may result in the reduction of a maximum of 49 positions.

In the Business Area Ground at the Thun location, a reorganization is planned due to insufficient capacity utilization. The reason for this is a lack of customer orders in particular. Up to 24 positions may be eliminated as part of the planned changes.

Organizational changes are also planned in the area of IT. Various services will be provided externally in the future, in particular by the Federal Office of Information Technology, Systems and Telecommunication (FOITT). The objective is to streamline services and remove duplicate structures. This measure could result in a total of up to 8 positions being eliminated at both the Thun and Berne locations, as well as 9 positions at the Emmen location.

The consultation procedure regarding the planned measures is currently ongoing. A definitive decision regarding the potential reduction in force will be made following its conclusion. Employees that could be affected by reductions in force will be provided the best possible support under the RUAG social plan. Among other things, it provides for extended notice periods, outplacement as well as further support.
