Strategic Partnership in the field of CPD Engineering and Laser Positioning

20.07.2021 - RUAG is entering into a strategic partnership with the international company Virtek Vision International Inc., a market leader in laser positioning systems. The aim is to bundle the skills and expertise of both companies, in order to offer an even wider range of products and services.

RUAG has been awarded the contract for the manufacture of six mobile disinfection systems

05.07.2021 – RUAG has signed the series production contract for six mobile disinfection container systems. With this order, a total of 18 containers will be produced for the Swiss Armed Forces.

30.06.2021 – RUAG has one the public tender for the new “Integrated Military Telecommunications System Replacement” system (Ersa IMFS) of the Swiss Armed Forces.

SFAO confirms: Important RUAG data securely transferred

07.06.2021 – As part of the unbundling of the former RUAG Group, the separation of the ICT environment played a predominant role. The aim was to completely physically separate the old corporate ICT infrastructure. According to the current audit report of the Swiss Federal Audit Office (SFAO), the ICT migration of RUAG Ltd was achieved with the "IT cutover" in April 2020 and the data of RUAG Ltd was successfully transferred to the network perimeter of the Armed Forces Command Support Organisation (FUB).

RUAG receives SAR approval for J85-GE21 engines

01.06.2021 - RUAG has received SAR (Source Approval Request) approval for maintenance and repair work on J85-GE21 engines for the federal government of the United States of America. Only suppliers with SAR approval are taken into consideration for tenders and contracts of the U.S. Department of Defense. With SAR approval for complete engines in the field of F-5 services, RUAG will continue to secure its strategic partnership with its customers in the long term and provide high-quality services.

RUAG puts a new site into operation in Payerne

03.05.2021 - The construction work for the new RUAG Ltd site on the military airfield in Payerne is now complete. At the beginning of April, the newly formed team was able to take possession of the first F/A-18 and begin working on it. Construction began in May 2020 in cooperation with the Swiss Air Force, and all twelve of the newly created posts have been filled.

05.03.2021 - RUAG has won an order as part of an “immediate operational requirement initiative” and is supplying 55 interoperable communications solutions based on the Tactical Access Node (TAN) device type to the German Bundeswehr.

Technology leadership through innovation and sustainability: New infrastructures planned at the Thun site

10.02.2021 - RUAG is planning to build two new infrastructures at the Thun site and is therefore focusing on long-term technology leadership in the field of ground-based systems and complex testing services. This is the Test Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and the fa-cility for an electrically powered and universal transmission test bench. RUAG Real Estate Ltd is responsible for both construction projects.

RUAG announces the sale of RUAG Environment Ltd to Thommen Group AG

Bern, 30 October 2020 - RUAG MRO Holding Ltd has sold RUAG Environment Ltd to Thommen Group AG. With the sale and the resulting synergy effects, operations can be maintained for the time being. In the course of the next three years, operations will be transferred to the Thommen Group, in particular Immark AG. This will ensure a Swiss solution in the field of electronics recycling in the long term. Both parties have agreed to keep the terms of the sale confidential.

Payerne expansion project reaches milestone

Bern, 14 September 2020 - The RUAG Ltd expansion project in Payerne has reached a further milestone. The first five employees have commenced work and during the next few months at the Emmen site, will be prepared for their role supporting the maintenance of the F/A-18 Air Force fleet.

25.06.2020, As of today, 25 June, RUAG Ltd, which has been unbundled from the RUAG Group since 1 January, is shedding its previous "RUAG together ahead" logo and starting its independent future with a new identity. 15.06.2020, RUAG and Safran Helicopter Engines have extended until 2021 their contract for maintenance of the fuel control units of the Makila engine powering the Super Puma helicopter. Close partnerships with original equipment manufacturers such as Safran Helicopter Engines enable RUAG to have a constant availability of resources to provide high-quality services and thus ensure the performance of helicopters.

04.05.2020, In collaboration with the Swiss Air Force, RUAG Ltd has begun working on the construction of a new location on Payerne’s military airfield. In doing so, RUAG Ltd creates 12 new jobs in the region.

Helicopter successfully repurposed for COVID-19 patients

02.04.2020, RUAG has recently modified the EC 635 helicopter model for COVID-19 patients. For this time-sensitive project, RUAG, armasuisse and the Air Force are working together on suitable solutions for protecting both pilots and patients to the greatest possible extent. Two helicopters have already been modified and are ready for use by the Air Force.

Royal Netherlands Air Force renews maintenance contract with RUAG MRO Switzerland

13.03.2020, RUAG MRO Switzerland has been awarded the publicly tendered maintenance contract by the Royal Netherlands Air Force for its PC-7 training aircraft. The award underlines RUAG MRO Switzerland’s expertise as a competent, efficient partner in the field of life cycle management of propeller aircraft.

RUAG offers new training courses for Maintenance Check Flights

15.01.2020, EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) has re-regulated the inspection flights after maintenance work, so-called Maintenance Check Flights (MCF). Therefore, many helicopter operators are obliged to train their crew for check flights. RUAG has optimized its course offer for MCFs and provides operators and maintenance facilities with tailor-made solutions.
