Ready to begin apprenticeship

In early August 2026, 73 young talents began their apprenticeships at RUAG in 15 different trades. For them, the start of their apprenticeships marks an important milestone on their path to a career. The orientation program provided the new apprentices with the ideal conditions for a successful start to their training.

Throughout their training, we support our apprentices in discovering and purposefully developing their interests and talents. Through hands-on training, we lay a solid foundation for their professional future and make a significant contribution to training the skilled workers of tomorrow.

The start of the program varies depending on the trade: While some apprentices begin their training directly on the job, those in technical trades such as polymechanics, automation, or electronics complete a foundational training year at one of our eleven Swiss training centers. There, they receive optimal preparation for their future day-to-day work as part of an operational team.

Ready for the Working World at RUAG

During the orientation days, a varied program awaited the new apprentices. In addition to organizational topics, the apprentices completed first-aid and fire safety courses and received training on IT security and the use of social media. There was also plenty of opportunity for them to get to know one another and exchange ideas.

Filled with curiosity, motivation, and many new impressions, the apprentices are embarking on their training and look forward to taking on responsibility together and contributing to Switzerland’s sovereign security. We wish them all a successful start, much joy in their learning, and valuable experiences on their journey through their professional lives.
