A total of 130 participants came to Biel/Bienne, including 90 representatives from industry and members of the Swiss security union. More than 20 exhibitors (start-ups, universities, RUAG) presented their projects and were able to benefit from insights into promising start-up ideas and partnerships at the same time. The exhibitions showcased projects from the areas of digital solutions and enablement, the information security space, integrated smart products, sustainability and autonomy, advanced logistics, and communication and intelligence.
The talks about innovation and security topics by speakers such as General Staff Colonel Mathias Müller (Project Manager of Top Events for the Swiss Armed Forces) and Dr. Thomas Rothacher (Head of the Science and Technology Area of Expertise/Deputy Head of Armaments) contributed significantly to the success of this third event.
The forum was rounded off with the "coffee with the experts" format on the one hand, where participants discussed issues and ideas directly with the speakers and RUAG managers. On the other hand, the winners of the RUAG Innovation Awards presented their results, and start-ups were able to introduce their products to the audience in person.
As part of the Switzerland Innovation Foundation, RUAG supports start-ups with the Accelerator Program and drives forward innovative solutions that contribute to Swiss sovereign security. This grants the start-ups access to the security cluster, its resources and its market. The program started in 2021 and 18 start-ups and innovative companies have benefited from it so far. The forum will take place again in 2023.
