RUAG CEO steps down – search for successor initiated

Andreas Berger, CEO of RUAG MRO Holding Ltd, is stepping down from all his functions at RUAG at the end of the year following the successful completion of the unbundling of RUAG into two separate entities.

The Board of Directors would like to thank Andreas Berger for his commitment and prudent assistance in the unbundling of RUAG into two independent business units, RUAG MRO Holding Ltd and RUAG International. The Board of Directors has appointed Peter E. Bodmer to lead the company on an interim basis as of December 2021. The search for a new CEO has started.

Andreas Berger began his career at RUAG in 2010 as Senior Vice President of RUAG Defence. From 2017, the ETH electrical engineer served as CEO of RUAG Defence and, since January 2020, as CEO of RUAG MRO Holding Ltd. "The Board of Directors is very grateful to Andreas Berger for his active assistance in the unbundling of RUAG. This task will be complete as of the end of the year and we therefore understand Andreas Berger's decision to hand over the leadership of the new RUAG now," explains Chairman Nicolas Perrin.

"For me, after the completion of the strenuous unbundling phase, the right moment has come to start a new phase in my life and to hand over the management of the new RUAG to younger hands," adds Andreas Berger.

The search for a new CEO is already under way. To ensure rapid leadership during this transition phase, the Board of Directors is appointing Peter E. Bodmer as interim CEO, who will take office from December 2021.

In assuming this role, Peter E. Bodmer can call on his extensive national & international experience in groups working in the machinery, automotive supply, construction and real estate sectors. In addition to his different advisory roles, Peter E. Bodmer is also the project delegate of the Canton of Zurich State Council for the development of the Zurich Center university district and the transformation of Dübendorf Airfield.
