Step by step, the building is taking shape—the structural progress is now clearly visible. In addition to the main warehouse space, a break room for about 30 people, restrooms, and the necessary utility rooms are also being constructed.
The wooden structure of the multi-purpose warehouse is particularly striking. It defines the building’s appearance while also providing the flexibility needed for day-to-day logistics operations. For users, this means one thing above all: practical workflows and enough flexibility to organize processes effectively. In the fall, the warehouse will be equipped with modern infrastructure. To enable efficient logistics operations starting at the end of the year, thousands of linear meters of shelving will be installed here. And even in the long term, the multi-purpose warehouse will remain versatile—for example, as a potential replacement space during the site’s further development.
The project is moving along quickly: launched in May 2025, handover is scheduled for early August 2026. The fact that this is possible at this pace is due in no small part to the excellent cooperation among all parties involved and the support from the authorities.
A special moment was the laying of the cornerstone during work on the foundation slab. The “cornerstone capsule” used was crafted by the students of the BA Air Training Center and filled with contributions from BA Air, Logistics, and Real Estate. A lovely idea—because if the building is ever demolished many years from now, there will certainly be plenty for future generations to discover inside.
With the next construction phase—the erection of the timber structure—the progress will once again be clearly visible. The hall is now rapidly taking its final shape. It will still take some time before everything is fully operational—but the goal is noticeably closer. And preparations for the opening are already underway.
