Information and documentation specialist

Information and documentation specialists work at libraries, archives and documentation centers. They are tasked with selecting, accessing, storing, preserving, researching and providing information.

They obtain information in analog and digital formats from bookstores and on company portals or in other databases. They store this information in an information system so that it can be found at any time.

Customer support is another key aspect of this profession. Communicating information and media is the focus here. As part of complex research jobs, they answer a wide range of inquiries in different subject areas.

In order to store the information acquired sustainably, information and documentation specialists ensure that the media collection is preserved and archived. Working at RUAG is therefore extremely versatile.

What we offer

Your apprenticeship will involve managing, updating and distributing analog and digital information. You will familiarize yourself with the documentation process and work in modern databases. In addition to this, you will digitalize analog media and migrate it to archival formats. You will be in close contact with your customers and support them in all documentation matters.

What you will contribute

You must have reached an intermediate or advanced level of secondary education. You are good with language, in terms of both speaking and writing. You greatly enjoy working at a computer. You are communicative and service-oriented. Having an interest in aviation and different aviation systems is an advantage.

Apprenticeship duration

Your apprenticeship at RUAG will last three years. With good academic performance, the vocational school-leaving certificate can be obtained in parallel with the apprenticeship.
